You can't miss it! Impressive, it measures over 100 meters long and its bell tower reaches a height of 87 meters. Built in the Gothic style and made of pink sandstone, a reddish-toned stone found in the historical buildings of the old town, the Rodez cathedral took nearly 300 years to be built.
Free and open access every day. Guided tours are available (reservation required) with access to its famous bell tower.

The museum is dedicated to Pierre Soulages, the famous painter and printmaker, a major figure in non-figurative painting, born in Rodez in 1919.
Pierre Soulages paintings, particularly known for his use of reflections on the black color, are shown in the world's greatest museums and he is one of the very few artists to have had a retrospective at the Louvre museum during his lifetime.
The museum, designed by the RCR Arquitectes firm (Pritzker Prize winners), houses an exceptional collection of 250 works donated by Pierre and Colette Soulages, including major pieces by the artist, such as the precious "Brous de noix" or the "Outrenoirs".

The historic center has preserved its medieval alleys lined up with buildings made of pink sandstone. Around the cathedral and the bishop's palace, numerous buildings can be seen, including the Guitard House (14th century) and the Benoît House (15th century). The Bourg district features beautiful 16th century mansions with Renaissance decorations, particularly the so-called Armagnac House and Annunciation House.
Several squares enliven the heart of the city, such as the place du Bourg and place de la Cité, especially worth visiting on producers' market days (Wednesday morning and Saturday morning).
As a rural territory, Aveyron has developed a flourishing agri-food industry, with emblematic products such as Roquefort cheese and Aubrac beef meat. You can find traditional dishes, such as saucisse aligot or estofinade, as well as more contemporary cuisine in one of the many restaurants in Rodez. Among our favorites: Café Bras, located in the Soulages Museum, run by world-renowned chefs Michel and Sébastien Bras (known for their flagship restaurant in Laguiole), la Loggia, just a stone's throw from the hotel, or La Maison, rue Louis Oustry, owned by our friends Luc and Chloé.
