History
Considered as an institution in Rodez , the hotel was created over 150 years ago by Prosper Biney, a renowned chef who gave it his name. The local bourgeoisie greatly appreciated its cuisine and lounges, as well as famous guests like the opera singer Emma Calvé, or the pioneers who left Aveyron to establish the Piguë colony in Argentina in the late 19th century.
In the 1970s, the hotel left its historical building on Boulevard Gambetta to settle on Rue Victoire Massol, away from traffic, losing its restaurant but gaining a pleasant courtyard garden. Recently taken over by two childhood friends, both born in Rodez, the three-star Hotel Biney continues to write its history and welcome all travelers coming to Rodez for business or leisure.
